The London Evening Standard is the latest UK journal to transition into digital music, moving away from CD covermounts. That will allow the publication to avoid costly physical CD giveaways, with the new London Music Network offering access to digital tracks. The Standard will use technology from 4Play to limit track access, with users permitted to listen to new music four times before being prompted for purchase. The most important connection for readers comes with music reviews, with readers now able to sample reviewed music online.
