The big hitters of the US music industry gathered together this week in a first of a kind pow wow ahead of the US Supreme Court’s ruling on the case of copyright infringement by P2P service Grokster. The ruling, much like the original Sony betamax case, could have a far-ranging impact if Grokster is not found to be liable. Representatives from the RIAA, many of the publishing and rights owners groups and coalitions representing artists got together for two days, presumably to work out their response whichever way the court decides.
