O2 has signed up Andy Cato, one half of Groove Armada, to create exclusive tracks for the mobile operator’s digital music service. Cato will release two tracks a week for £1 each that will be available within days of being completed. One will be made available for radio broadcasts but the other will be exclusive to mobile users. Cato said in The Guardian: “Piracy is rampant and the digital systems are slightly out of control, maybe this is one way of stabilising the situation.”
