Apple’s decision to cut prices on its iPod Shuffle range could start a wave of price cuts across flash-based digital audio players (DAPs) according to ComputerWorld. Those price cuts could also stimulate a further spurt of grown in DAP ownership. Recent research in the US points to a four-fold increase in ownership over the next four years. Additionally, with DAP ownership in single figures currently, digital music services should enjoy the knock-on effect of that growth.
