Napster has teamed up with XM satellite radio in the US to offer downloads to XM subscribers in a listen-then-buy scenario. Napster’s share price subsequently rose by 19%, providing the digital music service with a welcome lift in what will be a crucial 12 months financially. Napster in the UK is teamed up with Virgin Radio for a download chart radio show, but despite some commercial radio stations offering downloads, it’s yet to make a mirror move in the UK.
