We’re nearing the next wave of mobile music in the UK with the launch of the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) in the UK this September. The music labels are gearing up for this new format and Sanctuary are the first publicly out of the gate. The PSP, though wirelessly connectable, uses the UMD disc format and Sanctuary is planning five releases: three music concert recordings – Iron Maiden – Rock In Rio, INXS – Live Baby Live and Bob Marley – Live From Santa Barbara – and two movies Dune and Blue Velvet. The releases are spread from 1 September to 1 October.

At some point, Sony will also announce that Sony Connect, its DMS, will directly connect with the PSP though confirmation and details are yet to be announced.
