The BBC has run one in an occasional series of interviews with movers and shakers in the digital music space. This time around it’s Napster’sBrad Duea. The piece doesn’t add anything to the collective knowledge and Duea is in danger of sounding like a broken record – old brand reborn (check), Apple = bad monopoly (check) and subscription equals musical freedom (check). No mention of the different business models, mobile music and just how many subs has Napster UK got? The Beeb slips up by stating that Napster has 410,000 subs paying £14.95 as that’s the US subscriber number and they only pay $14.95.
