Finally, much promised and amid rumours fuelled by a certain Kiwi actor (Russell Crowe and yes he’s a Kiwi) the Apple iTunes store in Australia has opened its doors. The iTunes Music Store is now available in 21 countries and the Oz version features more than one million songs from major and independent record labels and over 1,000 music videos. Prices are AUS$1.69 per song, $3.39 per video and with most albums at $16.99. A considerable price rise (almost double) when exchange rates are taken into consideration, which could be a result of the battling Apple had with the music labels in Australia just to get the service up and running.
