The Korean press is reporting that Samsung is planning an iTunes-like digital music service. Samsung president Choi Gee-sung, who is in charge of the firm’s digital media division said: “We are now in talks with our partners to debut a service program like iTunes of Apple. Our No. 1 priority is to help customers use our products with ease.”

Motorola has ported iTunes onto its handsets while other operators have created their own services but so far the interface and user expereince has been spectacularly bad. Up to seven steps or more to buy a single track is not unusual at the moment.
