Chris Gorog, Napster’s big chief is a man with no fear. OK, maybe a little bit. He very very gently castigated the company’s major technlogy partner Microsoft. The PlaysForSure campaign has been noticable by its lack of impact. Some hardware works, some doesn’t, some need flash upgrades and some don’t. Gorog said: “There is no question that their [Microsoft’s]
execution has been less than brilliant over the last 12 months.” He still thinks that Windows Media will be the format of choice but there’s precious little evidence that that will be the case – bring on the Microsoft music announcement later this week.
