Internet service provider Tiscali has thrown the toys out of the pram, shutting down its peer-to-peer (P2P) music sharing service and slamming music labels as impossible to work with. The IFPI said that the service exceeding its stated limits as people could stream tracks on demand but that kinda strikes me as a good service, oh no, wait, you could record that crappy 128Kbps version of the track and then share it with the world undermining the whole music industry in the process. Boy, glad you can’t do that with a much higher quality version of the track from, oooh, something like a CD?
