Real Networks have spent $350 million on getting a major foothold in the mobile music marketplace by buying Korean-based Wider Than. Wider Than will bring a powerful over the air mobile music product set into the Real family with working relationships with 50 carriers in 25 countries. “WiderThan is a world leader in mobile music services,” said Real’s Rob Glaser. “We believe the combination of RealNetworks and WiderThan will greatly enhance our digital entertainment products and services and accelerate our reach around the world.”
