The Orchard has unveiled a double whammy of deals at the music conference MIDEM in Cannes. Firstly, it’s launched a mobile partnership with Ericsson and also inked a deal with Sanctuary Records to digitally distribute both back catalogue releases and new releases. The deal will also see The Orchard place Sanctuary sound within TV, film, advertisement and new media productions.

That said Sanctuary is still in dire financial straits, reporting pre-tax losses of more than £70 million. Sell-offs, mergers and a general fire sale are all being considered.
