Amongst tales of iPod sales, share deals and profits, Apple’s CFO Peter Oppenheimer promised an aggressive rollout of software for the iPhone when it ships, in the US, in June. Oppenheimer said that early adopters will be surprised and delighted, which given the excitement generated by Steve Jobs’ quick run-through earlier in the year, is a pretty big promise. No numbers are being bandied about but operator partner in the US AT&T has mentioned the magic one million number in terms of requests of interest.

UK users, like me, will have to wait until the end of the year or early 2008, which frankly is a bummer. No operator partner or release date has been announced.
