It was probably only end up as a footnote in the history of the Internet but it’s a sad day as AOL has announced the end of the Netscape Navigator browser. As of 1 Feb, there will be no new software or security updates. Sadly there are so few users – most have migrated to Firefox – that Microsoft has finally achieved its aim of killing off the main challenger at one time to Internet Explorer.
