The last week in 2007 was a bonanza for digital music downloads with more than 2.9 million tracks downloaded in one week, more than double the number for the previous year. A total of 77 million tracks were downloaded in 2007, a 50% jump on 2006. CD sales dropped during the same period but the BPI was not specific as to whether download increases offset the physical sales drop. Recovery? Hope so, we need some good news and soon.
