Napster, never one to miss out on a good PR opportunity, has followed suit and will dispense with DRM but only for downloads, which of course is a tiny piece of their subscription driven business. Subs will still be DRM wrapped and the DRM downloads won’t appear until sometime between April-June. Chris Gorog, Napster’s main man said something about breaking Apple’s monopoly but frankly I don’t believe that line especially from Napster.
