Boy, free albums online! You wait years and then three come along at once – Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails and now The Charlatans (OK, there have been a few others but these are the big boys). Digital Media Wire is reporting that the band have scored more than 60,000 downloads of You Cross My Path in just over a week through UK radio station XFM’s website.

What isn’t clear is whether that’s 60,000 tracks (you download them one by one) or 60,000 albums – I suspect the former but what the hell we’ll watch out for the extent of spike for XFM’s website. Though they could have scored a real whopper if they had created a photo gallery with an image audio description and one track to download per page…just a thought.
