The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has made legal action the centrepiece of its battle against online piracy and over more than five years it has launched more than 28,000 lawsuits. Unfortunately, only one case has gone the full distance and after millions and millions of dollars in legal fees, more bad press than could really be counted and full-blown tilting at windmills, the estimated percentage of ISP users downloading music without paying has dropped…1%.
