It seems pretty weird that Apple has not foreseen that demand for the 3G iPhone would be high – UK telecoms partner O2 is stating that ‘a few dozen’ would be available in store, while the web site crashed under orders coming in at the rate of 13,000 a second.

I’m pretty happy that my order went in on Monday, OK I had to wait until 11am, but now just waiting for the postman on Friday. Waited for the first iPhone wave to pass over – that was hard, but 3G + iPhone = impossible to resist technology leap. I’ve had a practice run with my iPod Touch (don’t ask about the iPod collection) and if it’s as good as that and truly 3G speed I’ll be a very happy bunny even if I am tied into an 18-month contract…
