I watched Daniel Pink’s presentation at TED in the UK twice. The first time I thought, yes this is great and he’s right. After the second time, I thought that this is a theory that stands up and makes perfect sense and why aren’t major companies doing this right now?

In essence, incentivising creative people with carrot and stick solutions narrows their thinking and negatively impacts productivity and creativity. Instead, rethink the way your business runs and the restrictions and management you impose on those creative workers.
